Welcome to CDM - The Couples Dance Machine v0.5 by Frank

-------------------------------------------------

IN ORDER FOR REMOTES TO WORK IT IS NECESSARY TO UPDATE TO THE LATEST VERSION OF OPENSIM - AS OF 08/19/2012. A BUG WAS FOUND IN OPENSIM FUNCTIONING OF DIALOGS FROM REMOTE LOCATIONS THAT HAD TO BE FIXED TO GET THE CDM REMOTES TO WORK CORRECTLY.

--------------------------------------------------

The CDM provides the following functions:

1. Couples dance balls are rezzed next to you so you can dance any where you want to dance.

2. Each CDM ball supports up to 10 couples simultaneously with each couple being able to select their own dance.

3. The CDM ball provides both manual and automatic re-sync of dance animations.

4. Add your own couples dances and other animations. (Read the Adding Dances Instructions notecard)

5. Remotes allow one base unit to provide dancing for an entire region.

6. Page Up and Page Down allow individual adjustment of avatar position.

Using your CDM Couples Dance Ball:

Rez the CDM at a convenient location. One CDM base can be used though out a single region. Included is a CDM remote that you can copy and place at locations remote from the base CDM. Dance animations are included within the base unit only so only one copy of the animation is required for all couples, but can be used via the remotes anywhere on your region. (Note the maximum of 10 couples is per CDM base unit and not per remote. Multiple CDM bases may be used within the same area to increase the couples limit)

1. Click the CDM base unit or remote and a pair of dance balls will be rezzed close to you. If you do not sit on them within a minute they will automatically derez. If you decide you want to move before sitting on the dance balls, you can move to a new position, click on the base unit or remote and the dance balls will be moved to your new location.

2. Sit on the appropriate dance ball and a Menu of options and available dances will be displayed to you. Both you and your partner can control the dance at any time by clicking on the CDM base unit or remote.

3. To Manually Sync you and your partners animations, wait until both of you are dancing and then click the CDM and select the Sync option on the menu. Remember that animations are local to your viewer and one of you may appear to be out or sync and the other appear to be in sync. You may manually sync your animations at any time. The CDM will attempt to automatically sync your animations 15 seconds after you have started dancing.

NOTE: If you or your dance partner should stand after sitting on a dance ball, the ball will remain rezed for a short amount of time. If you sit on the ball again before it derezes you may continue dancing. This is to handle situations where you accidentally stand. If your ball derezes before you sit on it again, both you and your dance partner will need to sit on new balls rezzed by clicking on the CDM.

Adjusting positions.

To adjust the position of poses and dances to fit your and your partners AV:

1 Select Options menu and then select Adjust On.
2. A bar will be displayed going through your AVs.
3. Edit the bar and adjust the position of the AV as desired.
4. Select the Options menu and then select Save Pos to save the adjusted position automatically to a positions notecard.
5. Turn off the bars when you are done editing by going to Options Menu and selecting Adjust Off.

NOTE: Be sure to save any adjustments made to a pose or dance before changing to another pose or dance. Adjustments must be made one pose or dance at a time. The red bars can be left on as long as you want to continue adjusting more poses or dance positions.

OpenSim Region requirements for the CDM Couples Dance Ball.
