Prisoners' Dilemma

Two suspected criminals -- Bonnie and Clyde -- are captured by the police. Further, the police have enough evidence to convict Bonnie and Clyde of a minor crime of carrying unregistered guns (with a penalty of each spending a year in jail). Still, the police also suspect Bonnie and Clyde of committing a bank robbery (but they lack any hard evidence to convict either of the bank robbery crime). In turn, the police question Bonnie and Clyde separately and offer each the same deal -- if they confess to the bank robbery (and their partner does not) they can go free (and their partner will receive a sentence of 20 years). Still, if both confess, each will get an eight year sentence. Finally, if neither confesses, both will get a one year sentence.

Two or more players are needed, with the rounds played with two players at a time. In round one, each of the two players using the voting machine in one of the two cells to say whether they will confess or not (read: vote yes or no). Note: Both prisoners' answers are visible in the interrogation room between the two cells.

If additional games/rounds are played using the same players, touch the voting button again and click on the "reset" button to reset the game.  }
