Welcome to what I hope is enjoyable variant of the game known as Greedy Dice. Other names it is commonly known as are Zilch or Farkle, each with minor variations in scoring and game play.

QUICK SUMMARY
The game is played by rolling a set of 6 dice. Die with values of 1 or 5 always score, other valued die must be present as 3 pairs, or multiples of 3 or more of the same valued die (ie. 3 of a kind, 4 of a kind, ...). A Straight (1,2,3,4,5,6) also will score 3000 points. This game also allows the player to collect 500 points if a Zilch (no other scoring of all 6 dice) if it is the first roll of any given round. Players much accumulate at least 500 points to get on the board.

Game play passes to the next player when the current player PASSes or has a non-scoring roll. In the event of a non-scoring roll all points accumulated in the round for that player are also lost.

A game is finished when a player has scored more than 10000 points, and each other player has had an additional round. The player with the highest score is then determined to be the winner and announced.

30 seconds after the game has ended the table will return back to idle and allow the existing players to start a new game. Players can also be added or removed at this time.

SCORING Dice rolls are scored as follows:

ROLL SCORING

each 1 = 100 points
each 5 = 50 points
3 pairs = 1000
3 of a kind = 100 times value
3 ones = 1000 points
4 of a kind TWICE 3 of a kind
5 of a kind TWICE 4 of a kind
6 of a kind TWICE 5 of a kind
Straight(1,2,3,4,5,6) = 3000 points
Zilch(all 6 with no score) = 500 points

WINNING

The game is over when any player COMPLETES a turn with MORE than 10000 points. At that point each OTHER player has one final turn. The highest final score wins the game.

STARTING A GAME

Each player simply sits on an empty stool before game play is started and they are automatically added for play. To remove yourself from the game simply stand up. Once game-play has started new players will not be able to join.

NOTE: You are not removed from the game if you stand while a game is currently in progress.

STEPS FOR EACH TURN

Roll the dice, Score the roll, Decide whether to quit or roll the dice again, PASS to accept the accumulated score, which will then also pass the turn to the next player. Players are chosen at random to start and then the sequence for play is the same as the order the players were added to the game.

THE TURN IN DETAIL

A turn starts with a roll of 6 dice (this roll is made for you). Dice contained in a scoring combination may be set aside and scored by selecting which dice are to be keep. Having set aside 1 or more scoring dice, the player then chooses whether to go for more. To go for more, just press the roll button. Unselected dice will be re-rolled and selected dice will be moved up to the "kept dice" section. A player may keep rolling as long as there is no Zilch (no scoring combination in a roll). In the event that a Zilch is rolled where all 6 dice are non-scoring, then 500 points can be collected by selecting all the die. You may pass or continue to roll..

Each die may be counted in only 1 scoring combination. If possible, at least one combination MUST be scored on each roll. When more than 1 combination is rolled, the player may freely choose to set aside and score whichever seem best and roll the rest. Actual points scored result only from combinations set aside. Dice set aside from a previous roll may not be used to form combinations with dice in the current roll. A Zilch roll (less than 6 non scoring dice) immediately ends the TURN with a score of zero. That is, you lose everything you've scored during the turn (not the whole game). Some combinations can be scored in more than 1 way. The player may score the dice as desired, even if the result is less than the maximum possible.

The first score that you add to the scoreboard must be at least 500 points. This means that until you have scored once you will not be able to pass with less than 500 points. After you are on the scoreboard you may pass with any number of points}
